Unit 1: Understanding J & K Economy

Q. Write  a  short  note  on  handicrafts  and  handloom  industry  in  the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

Ans:  Handicraft  Industry Handicrafts  Imdustry is one of the  important  position  in  the state  of  Jammu  and  Kashmir.  It is always in demond in all over the world.  Wood,  Carvings,  Shawls,  Paper  Machie, Woolen  Shawls,  Crewel  Embroidery,  Namdas  and  Gabba  are  the  other most Importent  handicrafts  of  the  state of Jammu and Kashmir .  Handicraft  industry  is  the  backbone  of  economy of jammu and kashmir

Handloom  industry: Handloom  industry  has  been  traditionally  the  major  industry  in  the state of jammu and kashmir .  The  state  of jammu and kashmir is  famous  for  weaving  quality  fabrics  like  Pashmine Shawls,  Raffal  Shawls,  Kani  Shawls,  Silk  Sarees,  Kishtwari  Blankets, Block  Printed  Bed  Sheets  etc.  The  handloom  department  of  the  Jammu and Kashmir   has 491  registered  cooperative  societies with   30  thousand handlooms  in  the  state.  For the economy this industries id very importent.  

Q - Explain the   role  of  service  sector  for the developement of Economy in the State ?

Ans:  Service  sector  also known as   tertiary  sector of  the  state  economy.  It  is  the mai and  fastest  growing  sector  of  the  state of jammu and kashmir . It includes Banking , Tourism ,Transportation , Communication, Insurance etc. It  is  dominated  by  traditional  services. It Contributes 19.74 % in the economy of jammu and kashmir.

Q - What are the  major  agricultural  crops  grown  in  Jammu  and  Kashmir. Distribute    Kharief Crops   and  Rabi  crops  according to Seasons. 

Ans:  The Jammu  and  Kashmir  is  an  agrarian  state.  About  73%  of  the people   of  the  state  is  directly  or  indirectly  depends  on  agriculture.  It amounts  to  19.83%  of  GDP  of  the  state of Jammu and Kashmir.  The  main  crops  grown  in  the  state of Jammu and Kashmir are  rice,  maize  and  wheat.  It covers about  84%  of  the  total  cropped  area .There are more  other  crops  grown  in the state of jammu and kashmir  i.e  barley,  Bajra  and  Jawar. Those  crops that are  grown  in  the  Kharief  season  are:  Maize,  Rice,  Pulses,  Millets and those  crops that are  grown  in  the  Rabi  season  are:  Wheat,  Barley,  oil  seeds.

Unit 2:   Employment Generation

Q - Discuss the role of tourism in job creation in Jammu and Kashmir. 

Ans.  Tourism has been an important factor for the groth  ofeconomy of J&K states.  The state offers diverse ethnic and religious, culture and linguistic groups with their own specific tourism resources.  The Kashmir Valley is famous for its natural beauty while the Jammu is famous for its Diya temples.  The Ladakh area is famous for Gampas.  Thousands of domestic and foreign tourists go to J&K to visit these places.  Thus, tourism has a high ability to create a lot of jobs in the state.  It is a working industry with a variety of jobs for skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled people.  It creates a large-scale direct and indirect job.  Jobs are created in different areas of the state i.e Hotels, restaurants, House boats, Transport services, Travel Agents, etc.  During a visit to the state, tourists buy local products such as shawls, carpets, wood carvings, jewelry, paper machines, etc.  Increasing the demand for such products provides employment to local artisans, carpenter, wooden carvers, etc. 

 Q- How can employment capacity be increased in Jammu and Kashmir? 

Ans.  Jammu and Kashmir's economy has suffered greatly due to the uncertainty in the state for the past two decades.  This is not possible for the government۔ Providing jobs to everyone. New opportunities has created in different private sector..  New employment opportunities can be identified in the field of agriculture, handlocks and crafts, tourism and travel.  Education and health, IT sector, construction sector, etc.  The government needs to provide financial support to young people to describe their business people.  Loans can be provided to encourage young people to start their business. 

Q- Write a sectoral initiative by the government to create jobs in Jammu and Kashmir. 

Ans.  The sectoral measures initiated by the government are: 

It has increased public investment in the poultry sector.  Emphasis has been urged to deal with disease and infertility. 

The state must initiate a PPP policy that will increase sectors such as handicrafts, handlooms and transport. 

Regular flights connecting different parts of the state, hospitality and adventure tourism can be trained in tourist circuits in PPP mode. 

The government has launched a carpet cluster for artisans and a skill development scheme. 

Programs such as MSME have been launched in collaboration with JKSFC and PMEGP to bring sustainable development and jobs 

Very much Some have to do in the IT / BPO sector.  The sector has attracted a number of young entrepreneurs.  The government needs to encourage private investment and build infrastructure in the case of IT / BPO Parks.

Unit 3. Protecting Ourselves from Disasters

Q- What is  first, second and third degree of burns?

Ans
i. First Degree Burn: This type of burns involving the top layer of the skin. The Skin seems red and very painful.

ii. Second Degree Burn: This type of  burns involving two layers of the skin these two layers are epidermis layer and dermis layer. The skin gets red having blisters and is very painful.

iii. Third Degree Burn: This type of burb involve all the layers of the skin and also involves muscles, vessels and nerves.  areas of burn have less painful.

Q. What measures should be taken while construction of buildings in earthquake prone areas?

Ans. The measures that should be taken while construct the buildings in the earthquick prone area are given below:

i) The building should be biilt in a simple rectangular plan.

ii) Biilding with Long walls should be supported by reinforced concrete.

iv) Doors and windows should be less and small and should be located at the center of the wall.

Q.  What is the function of the search and rescue team during a disaster. 

Ans.  Search and rescue is a well-planned activity carried out by a group of individuals or specially trained professionals who are protected from adverse conditions Visited facilities can be explored and protected.  In the way of saving life during the disaster, the rescue team found the first and most important duty, as well as protecting victims from the disaster without wasting time for. In addition, search and rescue workers should take all precautions to remove victims from the enemy environment without further harming their health and safety.  

The second most important task they coordinate during their missions is to reassure the disaster area and to damage the possibility of property and life loss Also collect information to the extent of.  They provide shelter and first aid materials to the victims and do a lot of relevant work.

Unit 4. Road Safety Education

Q. What is road safety education?

Ans. Road Safety Education is a road safety education program that should be provided to children and youth in formal and social education settings - early childhood Services, primary and secondary school.

Road safety education also encourages and supports the role that parents and carers need to protect their children in traffic and protect the road Need to play a role in helping to know.

Road Safety Education Passenger, Pedestrian ، As cyclists and novice drivers, it seeks to promote behaviors and attitudes for the use of safe roads related to the development of children and youth.

To be effective, road safety education should be based on evidence and as a road user child / The young person should match the development phase and the level of freedom. 

Q.Why Road Safety Education?

Ans. About 3150 children on Indian road each year are killed or seriously injured from 3 to 15 years of age۔ These are about 60 children per week - road safety education is essential to reduce them and protect their children.

Q. Why children have accidents?

Ans. Accidents are caused by unsciously seeing children inside. They usually do not reduce the risk level of a situation, often because they have not yet experienced it. Other factors such as stress, family death, chronic illness, displacement or relocation also increase the chances of a child's accident.
